Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of managerial skills of school principals to develop the quality of education, which is seen through curriculum management and management of educator resources as well as educational aspects whether they are in accordance with needs. This study was carried out at SMK Negeri 4 Kendari using a qualitative approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data processing and analysis are carried out using the stages of data processing, information presentation, and conclusion drawn, as well as testing the validity of data through triangulation of sources and methods. The research revealed that school principals, with their managerial abilities, have carried out various actions to improve the quality of education through curriculum management and the management of educators and education personnel. Planning, management, mobilization, and supervision are curriculum management procedures, while planning, organizing, empowerment, and supervision are procedures for managing educators and education personnel. The results of the research show that the principal of SMKN 4 Kendari has taken steps to improve the quality of the school in order to increase accreditation which was previously dropped from A to B. In this management process, the principal also invites the participation of various parties who contribute to efforts to improve the quality of education.
